Form Projects delivered a major civil infrastructure upgrade at HMAS Harman, involving the reconstruction of four primary roadways and two carparks within the operational Defence base.
The project required careful planning and coordination to maintain safe access and minimise disruption to ongoing base activities while delivering critical infrastructure improvements. Works included stormwater upgrades and adjustments, subgrade and subbase construction with geotechnical testing and certification, installation of new kerb and gutter systems, laybacks and driveways, and the placement of new asphalt pavement surfaces.
Additional works comprised the installation of speed humps, bollards, fencing and linemarking, together with service location and diversion activities to protect existing underground infrastructure. The project also included extensive arboricultural works, including the removal and stump grinding of 13 mature trees to facilitate the upgraded road network and improve long-term asset performance.
The successful delivery of the project enhanced safety, accessibility and functionality across key transport corridors within the HMAS Harman precinct, providing durable infrastructure to support ongoing Defence operations.
