Fitout and Refurbishment | Heritage
Form Projects delivered the refurbishment and restoration of the Australian Red Cross shopfront in Cootamundra, a heritage-listed building located within the town's historic main street precinct.
Undertaken within a live retail environment, the project required careful planning and staging to ensure the facility remained fully operational throughout construction. Particular attention was given to preserving the heritage character of the building while upgrading the awning and shopfront to improve functionality, safety and presentation.
The scope of works included the removal of existing signage, demolition and replacement of the existing awning structure, roof sheeting and roof plumbing, and the repair and repainting of brickwork affected by demolition activities. The existing shopfront door, glazing and framing were removed and replaced with a new double-glazed shopfront entry, including the installation of a structural support beam, associated glazing and heavy-duty door hardware. Additional works included pavement make-good works, installation of a new fibre cement soffit to the underside of the awning, and associated finishing works.
Through meticulous workmanship and a strong focus on heritage-sensitive construction practices, Form Projects successfully enhanced the appearance and longevity of the building while maintaining its historic character. The completed project was highly regarded by the client and stakeholders, delivering a quality outcome that respected the significance of this important heritage asset.
