Form Projects was engaged to undertake the restoration and stabilisation of the heritage-listed Ginninderry Farmhouse, a significant historic asset within the Ginninderry development precinct.
Prior to construction, the farmhouse had fallen into a state of significant disrepair following numerous alterations and extensions undertaken throughout its history. The objective of the project was to preserve the building and restore its heritage character while protecting the asset for future use as development of the surrounding precinct progressed.
The works involved the careful demolition and removal of non-original extensions, together with the identification and removal of asbestos-containing materials and other hazardous substances. Restoration activities included structural repairs, carpentry, roofing works, hydraulic and electrical upgrades, painting and flooring finishes, all undertaken with a strong focus on heritage preservation and asset conservation.
Through a considered approach to heritage restoration and hazardous materials management, Form Projects successfully returned the farmhouse closer to its original aesthetic while ensuring its long-term protection and preservation as an important part of the Ginninderry community's history.
