Form Projects was engaged by Jam St Investments to complete the design, refurbishment and construction of an extension for the Benedict House Childcare Centre. The project combined the adaptive reuse of an existing heritage buildings along with the construction of an extension to the building, to provide a new childcare facility built to the current standards.

The total site area of the project was approximately 750sqm over two stories, accessed via existing stairs and a new lift, and contains seven activity rooms suitable for children aged 0 to 4 years of age, two cot rooms, a kitchenette with food preparation areas, laundry, reception, office, staff and planning rooms.

The project consisted of the demolition and removal of existing cottage located in the backyard of the property. Following the demolition of the existing cottage was the required civil and earthworks out the back whilst the refurbishment works took place in the internal heritage listed property.
